this is one thing i was told to fix a visual runtime error c++
How does one reload dot net?
Goto control panel and un install all versions of the dotnet framwork and hotfixes starting with the highest versions working down to the lower versions. Uninstall hotfixes before the runtime version.
Then uninstall Visual Studio (if installed)
Goto Microsoft windows update (Custom) and under optional software add the dot net runtime starting at the lowest version and restart the PC after installing. Winupdate to get the hot fix and restart
Repeat WinUpdate for each version in ascending order followed by the hotfix.
After Dotnet runtimes have been reinstalled and patched you can then reinstall Visual Studio.
I recently reinstalled the Dot Net runtimes on a PC used for video editing. I initially loaded only the newest dot net runtime ver 3 thinking that it would cover the other versions....
WRONG.... I had to install the lower versions as well as some programs required ver 1 other required ver 2. I couldn't get a video editor driver to work with just ver 3 installed it need ver 2.
So to avoid problems I recommend that you install all versions of the dot net run time up to the highest version that you need.
