Visual basic certificate or general computer programmer certificate?
If you're interested in Microsoft platform development, I advise you to go for Microsoft learning.

Getting certified will help you find a decent job to begin with. Development courses with microsoft are generally associated with the .net framework. You can choose between web development and windows development. I advise you to go for web development... when you take a test, you can choose your language of choice ..

Hope this helps.
Reply:I think it all depends on which direction you want your new career to go.....A certificate for visual basic sounds like you would be programming in visual basic more than any other language. A computer programmer certificate sounds like it would be a few different programming languages like C++, Java, etc... If that is true, then your achievement of a computer programmer certificate would mean that you have learned more than one programming language, and should be able to work anywhere. Good luck.
